Ordinary Membership is £25 per year and includes a range of benefits; Access to expert local beekeepers for support and advice Guided weekly meetings at the association apiary during the season Discounted supplies and equipment (eg Syrup, Candy and Jars all available at cost) Association equipment hire Membership of the Welsh Beekeeping Association (WBKA) Third party and bee disease insurance for 1 to 3 hives Regular meetings with expert speakers in the winter months For an additional £6 per year, a partner can join alongside the main member and take advantage of the same benefits. Alternatively, for £37.50 per year Family Membership offers the same benefits for up to 2 adults and any number of children under the age of 18. By completing this form, you consent to LBKA storing and processing your personal data for the purpose of the efficient running of the Association by its officials. Your information will also be shared with WBKA for processing of Bee Disease Insurance (see overleaf for details), and for distributing their quarterly Welsh Beekeeper magazine. Bee Disease Insurance Ltd (BDI) is an insurance company set up and run by beekeepers for beekeepers. It promotes research, education and disease control methods for honeybee diseases. It also compensates subscribing beekeepers in England and Wales in respect of defined equipment losses caused by statutorily notifiable honeybee diseases and pests. The additional BDI component is optional but be aware that as with most forms of insurance, the company will potentially refuse the claim if you are under insured. You are not covered by the insurance until you have paid your subscription. After March there is also a 40-day delay before the policy comes into effect.
